KMDM is a new residence under construction in Desert Mountain, Scottsdale. The clients, two working professionals, asked for one thing above all: a place of retreat. The design answers with a sanctuary set into the high desert, shaped around quiet, shade, and the long views that define the site.

The work is being carried from concept through construction as a single continuous effort. Every decision, from the siting of the building to the resolution of its materials, is held to one idea. That is the value of an architect engaged from the first line to the final detail.
